# Assets

> Assets are the data used by Customer's Canvas to implement various web-to-print scenarios. They include _designs_, _fonts_, _images_, and some other types.

You can manage these data in the **Assets** section of BackOffice. Your assets are separated by data type there, but the way you organize them, manipulate files, and so on is the same for all asset types. It is explained in detail in the [File manager](https://customerscanvas.com/docs/hub/admin-guide/manage-assets/file-manager.md) article.

The cornerstone of Customer's Canvas assets are _designs_ - a special file format that can be used by the editor apps and personalized by end-users. In other words, you can use designs as templates for your personalized products. You can add designs to Customer's Canvas in three ways:

- Import it from a file created in Adobe InDesign – see the [Importing from InDesign](https://customerscanvas.com/docs/hub/admin-guide/manage-assets/design/import-indesign.md) article.
- Import it from a file created in Adobe Photoshop – see the [Importing from Photoshop](https://customerscanvas.com/docs/hub/admin-guide/manage-assets/design/import-photoshop.md) article.
- Create it from scratch – see the [Creating a new design](https://customerscanvas.com/docs/hub/admin-guide/manage-assets/design/create-new-design.md) article.

You won't be able to create any designs containing text elements until you upload the necessary fonts to Customer's Canvas. This subject is covered in [Fonts](https://customerscanvas.com/docs/hub/admin-guide/manage-assets/fonts.md).
