Template Editor Guide
The Template Editor module is an important part of the Customer's Canvas cloud platform. It is used to edit designs you create as templates that are supposed to be personalized by your end users. You may work with designs created from scratch as well as imported from Adobe files (InDesign or Photoshop).
It is available as a part of a Customer's Canvas BackOffice panel. It means that you can use along with a cloud version of Customer's Canvas or if this system is deployed in your private cloud. However, even if you are using only the Design Editor module, you can still get an account at a cloud version of Customer's Canvas, use Template Editor to create and setup designs, download them, and put to your Design Editor instance.
This section starts with an overview of the Template Editor user interface. Also, we highly recommend you to check out a list of hotkeys to work in the editor in a productive manner.
Before diving into the editor, you may want to check out the tutorial section for your first experience with the editor.
There are two purposes of this editor - you may use it to create and modify design elements and also to configure the behavior of a template in the end user's editor. In the appropriate sections, you will learn what features of the editor to use to accomplish both tasks.
Although creating designs in the Template Editor may seem straightforward (especially if you already have experience with other graphic design software), it would be a good idea to learn about design file anatomy. It would help you better understand the idea behind the Template Editor structure.
