Working with a BigCommerce store
This section explains all aspects regarding integration of a BigCommerce store with Customer's Canvas: managing products, connecting templates to these products, processing the customer orders, and other tasks.
How do I add Customer's Canvas to a BigCommerce store?
You can add Customer's Canvas to your BigCommerce store on your own or submit a support ticket. Here, you will observe both ways.
Integrating on your own
You can add Customer's Canvas to your BigCommerce store on your own. To do so, you need:
- A Customer's Canvas tenant
- A store in BigCommerce where your role is the
owner
You need to do the following steps:
Prepare API credentials to create an integration. Learn more about getting API credentials.
Create an integration in the BackOffice panel using these credentials. Learn more about creating an integration in BackOffice.
Prepare a theme. Learn more about preparing BigCommerce themes.
Connect your Customer's Canvas product with your BigComerce product. Refer to an example of Connecting a template-based editor to a product.
Integrating with Customer's Canvas support team
You can submit a support ticket and request to connect your store to Customer's Canvas. We will need to get the following information:
- An address and credentials of your BigCommerce store admin page
- API credentials of your BigCommerce store
If you have any special requirements, please let us know as well.
How do I use it along with BigCommerce?
The general workflow is the following:
- Organize your BigCommerce product catalog as usual — edit product details, add variants, set up prices, etc.
- In Customer's Canvas, connect a Personalization Workflow (editors) to those products. It will add a Personalize button (or its equivalent) to the product page. This button opens the editor with the design template you have configured.
- Once the user finishes editing, the product is added to the shopping cart as usual.
- When the user completes the order, Customer's Canvas creates a project record that helps you to receive a print file personalized by the user. You may think of the projects as a projection of orders in Customer's Canvas.
All parts of this workflow are described in the following tutorials and the Admin's Guide.
