State file

A state file is the common native format used to store editable designs across Customer's Canvas editors and design-processing tools.

State files commonly use the .st extension. They preserve an editable design for further personalization, editing, or rendering. This is the shared underlying design format across Customer's Canvas editors, including Design Editor, Template Editor, and Handy Editor, and tools based on Design Atoms. It is used throughout Customer's Canvas Hub and Customer's Canvas On-Premises workflows.

A state file keeps the design editable; a final PDF or other production output serves a different purpose.
