Talking Direct Mail at the National Postal Forum 2026
At the National Postal Forum, we spent time talking with industry teams about the challenges and changes shaping direct mail today.

Recently, the Customer’s Canvas team attended the National Postal Forum in Phoenix. We spent several days talking with print service providers, mailing companies, and tech partners about the state of direct mail.

Even though every business has its own priorities and workflows, a few topics came up again and again throughout the event:

  1. Direct mail and digital are working together: Many companies are no longer treating direct mail as a separate channel. Instead, they’re combining physical mail with digital experiences to create more connected customer journeys.
  2. Personalization is becoming more advanced: Data-driven campaigns continue to grow, especially for businesses handling large volumes of variable content. More teams are looking for ways to make campaigns more relevant while still keeping production manageable.
  3. Automation matters at every stage: Workflow automation was another major topic during conversations at the event, from simplifying ordering processes to reducing manual production steps and speeding up approvals.

These discussions confirmed that the market is moving toward more connected, scalable direct mail workflows. We continue to develop the Customer's Canvas direct mail infrastructure with these real-world needs in mind, helping print and mail providers automate operations, simplify personalization, and support complex campaigns.

We want to say a huge thank you to everyone we spoke with for the inspiring exchanges and for openly sharing your experiences. This kind of firsthand feedback is exactly what helps us shape the future of our product.
