A Better Customer’s Canvas: Autumn 2019
This fall has been filled with intensive and productive work for the Customer’s Canvas engineering team. In addition to working on some significant features that were showcased at the Print19 trade show, a number of not-so-major albeit still important improvements were also implemented in our latest releases.

Let’s highlight some of these improvements that we’ve made over the last 3 months.

Performance

  • Improved performance of the Online Editor when manipulating objects on the canvas;
  • Eliminated blinking design elements on the canvas when editing them through the IFrame API.

Interface

  • Added support for Code 128, UPC-A, and UPC-E barcodes;
  • You may now select multiple objects on the canvas by using the Shift key and mouse;
  • Specify the number of actions that the user can revert back to by using the “undo” button. The default number of such actions is 10;
  • Search by name and sort by date/name in the Asset Manager;
  • You can turn on the rotation angle tooltip in Settings;
  • You may set the default rotation angle when user clicks the “rotate” button. Choose between 90°, 180°, or any other angle.

InDesign and Photoshop support

  • Fixed a problem with reading superscript characters specified in point text in PSD templates;
  • Support for the all-caps OpenType feature in IDML templates;
  • Support for the Drop Shadow effect in InDesign templates;
  • Added the option to specify the blend mode and opacity for applying color themes to products.
